Who we are

DontFailFundamentals (dontfailfundamentals.com) provides networking labs, instructional practice, and AI-assisted study tools.

Information we process

We process account identifiers supplied through Clerk, such as a user ID, email address and login-related information. We process payment status, access dates, promotional-code and usage information to operate paid and trial access. Payments are handled by Stripe; we do not intentionally collect or store full payment-card numbers in our lab database.

PDF labs and AI processing

Lab uploads accept PDF files only. During generation, your PDFs are transferred to OpenAI to produce a solution. We do not intentionally save the original PDF as a persistent application attachment. We request deletion of uploaded OpenAI files after processing, retry failed requests, and set a one-hour automatic expiry on those files. A request failure or provider-side processing may prevent us from guaranteeing immediate removal. OpenAI may separately retain information under its own API data-retention and security policies.

Saved labs contain the generated solution text, title, original filename and account association. Generated text can include details that appeared in your PDF; it is not merely upload metadata. Trial outputs that are not saved may remain temporarily in the browser while the page is open.

Please remove names, student IDs, addresses, passwords and other sensitive details from PDFs before uploading them.

Other services and cookies

Clerk handles authentication and account management and may process account profile images from existing accounts or connected identity providers. Removing the profile-photo control from the website does not retroactively delete images already held by Clerk. Stripe processes payments. OpenAI processes uploaded lab content. Hosting, security, logging, and database providers may process service information needed to run the site. Essential cookies or similar browser storage may be used for login, access sessions, abuse prevention and remembering preferences such as optional background motion. Provider policies and retention periods may also apply.

How long we keep data

Saved generated labs remain until users delete them through My Labs, subject to backups and legal requirements. You can delete your DFF account from Settings. This removes your Clerk sign-in account and your saved labs, account access, and usage records. Account deletion is permanent and ends remaining access; it does not automatically issue a refund. Stripe may retain payment records, and provider logs or backups may remain under applicable retention and legal requirements. Access, payment and security records may be retained when needed for administration, compliance, security or dispute resolution. We cannot promise immediate deletion from third-party logs or backups.

Your choices

You can delete individual saved labs from My Labs or permanently delete your account under Settings. You can turn optional background-light animations off in the site header. For records not covered by self-service deletion, you may request access or deletion through the contact below. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights.

Age requirements

This service is intended for people age 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect account information from anyone under 13. Do not include personal information about anyone under 13 in uploaded PDFs. Contact us if an account may not meet this age requirement.

Security and changes

We use access controls and other safeguards designed to protect information, but no online system can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy when the service changes and will post the new effective date here.
